Eileen J. Sheedy, 76, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, at St. Mark’s Living in Austin.
Eileen Joanne was born on July 27, 1941, to James and Esther (Lysne) Dalager in Austin. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School with the Class of 1959. Eileen was united in marriage to John “Jack” Sheedy on June 14, 1959, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin. Together the couple raised two children. Eileen was a homemaker and for many years worked as a CNA at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin. She enjoyed crocheting and crafting. Eileen and Jack enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, fishing and family trips to Leech Lake. She was a longtime member of Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, where she was active in Naomi Circle and taught Sunday school.
Eileen is survived by her children, Lori (Greg) Stackhouse of Hayfield, Minnesota, and David (Connie) Sheedy of Little Elm, Texas; three grandchildren, Blaine (Katherine) Stackhouse of Hayfield, JB Stackhouse of Hayfield and Cheyenne Redfearn of Lewisville, Texas; parents, James and Esther Dalager of Austin; brother, Darrell Dalager of Savage, Minnesota; sister-in-law, JoAnn (Richard) Tufte of Austin; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Sheedy on Nov. 7, 2017; and sister-in-law, Judy Dalager.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin with Pastor Lindsey Stolen officiating. The Sheedy family will greet friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday morning prior to the service at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery.
