Krueger honored with credit union award

Former Accentra Credit Union President/CEO Mahlon “Lon” Krueger was recently recognized with the Credit Union Builder Award.

The state-level award is given by the Minnesota Credit Union Network to individuals who have given time and energy to building the credit union movement.

Krueger started his career with Accentra (formerly known as Hormel Employees Credit Union) in March 1977. He quickly moved up through the accounting department to become the CFO. In December of 1987 he was named the president/CEO and led the credit union through much success until his retirement in April 2008.

This being the 10-year anniversary of his retirement, he was recognized for his involvement in the credit union industry. Officials say Accentra Credit Union and the credit union industry have benefited greatly from Krueger’s dedicated years of service.
