Man gets 57-month sentence for DWI

Collin Wayne Orth, 29, of St. Cloud was sentenced on Thursday in Mower County District Court to 57 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for felony first-degree DWI-under the influence of alcohol. He received credit for 105 days served.
He received a concurrent sentence of 33 months in prison for felony violating an order for protection. He received credit for 96 days served.
Additional charges of felony first-degree DWI-alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more, felony violating an order for protection, felony theft-take/drive a motor vehicle without owner consent, gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation of his license-inimical to public safety and misdemeanor open bottle were dismissed.
Judge Christa M. Daily issued the sentences.
Orth was arrested on Jan. 11 for driving impaired after being in a single vehicle accident involving a 2006 Dodge Caravan on Highway 105.
On Jan. 23, an agent with Steele County Community Corrections contacted the Mower County Sheriff’s Office to report that Orth had contacted a woman who had an order for protection against him from the Mower County Jail. The woman said that Orth had called her cell phone on the day of his arrest and again on Jan. 22. She said he commented about “going to prison for two years.”
A review of Orth’s criminal record shows prior convictions for acts constituting adulteration, harassment, fleeing a peace officer, intentional damage to property, theft, burglary, domestic abuse, drug possession and violating an order for protection
