Marjorie M. Rolfson, 84

Marjorie Mae Petersen was born July 29, 1933, in Hollandale, Minnesota, the daughter of George E. and Emma (Harris) Petersen. She was a 1951 graduate of Sherburn, Minnesota, High School. On Feb. 16, 1952, Marjorie married Dean Rolfson in Austin. The couple later divorced. Following her jobs as a telephone operator, a chef at Tommy’s Supper Club, and an agent for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Marjorie made a career of caring for many children as an in-home daycare provider for over 37 years. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends, which usually included beating them in card games, feeding them and sharing lots of love and laughter. She was a fabulous cook, seamstress and gardener. She belonged to First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her card club and connecting with friends and family on Facebook. Marjorie will be dearly missed by all of those lives she touched.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicky Williamson of Eagan, Minnesota, Sherry Suess of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Jayne (Julius) Gibson of Austin, and Shelley Riach of Lakeville, Minnesota; sons, Larry (Gloria) Rolfson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Troy (Jackie) Rolfson of Lakeland, Florida; son-in-law, Lawrance Pieper of Austin; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Floyd (Fran) Petersen of Morgan Hill, California; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Waiting to greet her in Heaven are her parents; her daughter, Kathy Pieper (died April, 29, 2017); seven brothers; one sister; and her former husband, Dean Rolfson (died Nov. 8, 2009).
