Steven Brian Nolte, 66

Steven Brian Nolte, 66, of Dexter, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus-Rochester.

Steve was born on March 2, 1952, in Austin, Minnesota, to Irvin and Jeanette (Dickens) Nolte. He was homeschooled until high school, graduating from Elkton High School in 1970. Steven grew up and lived in Dexter all his life. He met the love of his life, Barb Grzanek , on May 28, 1987, and they later married on Sept. 12, 1998, in Dexter. He worked 19 years at IBM in Rochester, Minnesota. He, his father, and his three brothers all worked at IBM at the same time. would try to travel once a year to Duluth, Minnesota, for their anniversaries, where they loved watching the ships on Lake Superior. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Steve also went to many sports games in the area to watch his nieces and nephews. He filled his free time with cooking for people; one of his specialties was making a turkey on the grill. Steve was a lifelong member of the Dexter United Methodist Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Nolte of Dexter; sisters-in-law, Georgie Nolte of Spring Valley, Minnesota, and Linda Nolte of Dexter; aunt, Ione (Kenneth) Dippel of Austin; and seven nieces and nephews, Gale, Amy, Brenda, Nancy, Jeff, Jennifer and Chad. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Jeanette Nolte; and brothers, Jim in 2010, Jerry in 2012 and Jon in 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Dexter United Methodist Church with Pastor Jon Marburger officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
