Wallace “Wally” Raymond Gronseth, 86

Wallace Raymond Gronseth, 86, formerly of Hayfield, Minnesota, passed away on April 9, 2018, at Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minnesota.
Wallace was born on June 26, 1931, the son of Albert and Emma (Hanson) Gronseth in Mower County, Sargeant Township, Minnesota. Wally was united in marriage to LaVonne Gulbranson on Feb. 28, 1953, in Hayfield. Wally farmed for many years and later worked for the Mower County Highway Department for 20 years, retiring in 1996.
He enjoyed his English Shire horses, the Minnesota Twins, playing cards, visiting toy shows, collecting Farmall tractors and spending time with family and friends.
Wally is survived by his daughters, Wallene (Marty) Stubstad, Rochester, Minnesota, LaMae Fritze, Hayfield, Diane Gronseth, International Falls, Minnesota, and Dawn (Jeff) Haugen, Cannon Falls, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, James (Janice) Gronseth, Kasson, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaVonne; three brothers, Stanley, Charles and Archie Gronseth; four sisters, Adeline Moen, Shirley Winholt, Fran Martin, and Alice Meiners; and son-in-law, Joel Fritze.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Evanger Lutheran Church, 33554 660th Ave., Sargeant, MN, with the Rev. Dwight Dobell officiating. Visitation will be two hours before the service on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to donor’s choice.
