Adeline Marie “Addie” Snyder, 82, of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Spring Valley Living Center in Spring Valley, Minnesota.
Adeline was born June 21, 1935, in Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Anna (Kofron) Malecek. She lived in rural Britt, Iowa, until the family moved to a farm near Elkton, Minnesota. Addie graduated from Elkton High School in 1952.
Following graduation, Adeline was employed as a teller at the Stewartville National Bank from 1952-55. On Aug. 20, 1955, she was united in marriage to Eugene Snyder of Grand Meadow and lived in their rural home for 60 years until moving to Spring Valley Senior Living.
Adeline enjoyed reading, sewing, music, art, painting, photography and interior design. Her career included full-time homemaking and retail sales at Daytons and Stevenson’s at Apache Mall. She also took classes in creative writing at RCTC and St. Teresa’s.
Addie is survived by her daughter, Kim (Russ) Bultman of Eufaula, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Candace (Steve) Curran of Stewartville, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Craig Meyer, Thomas Lantz, Anna Thorie, Lindsey Snyder, Pamela Sherman, Katie Thorie and Emmy (Gabe) Bly; and one great-granddaughter, Haley Mattsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; son, J.T. Snyder; daughter, Laurie Snyder; and brothers, Edward and Leonard.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday May 17, 2018, at St. Finbarr Catholic Church in Grand Meadow with Father Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday May 16, 2018, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
