Anna Marie Miller, 97

Anna Marie Miller, 97, of Austin, Minnesota, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Anna was born May 31, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Marie Starnick. She grew up in Pittsburgh and attended country school.

On March 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to John Miller in Winchester, West Virginia. The couple later moved to Austin due to the flip of a coin. John was a baseball player and it was heads Austin, tails Baltimore, Maryland. To this union three sons were born.

Anna enjoyed many things, including polka dancing, card club, fishing, baseball games and the Minnesota Twins.

Survivors include her sons, Tim (Pat) Miller, Austin, and Jim (Linda) Miller, Austin; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and son, Johnny.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Mayer Funeral Home. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com.
