Carl Phillip Nelson, 51

Carl Phillip Nelson, 51, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 27, 2018, from a sudden illness.

Carl was born Jan. 20, 1967, in Austin, Minnesota, the youngest son of Walter and LaDonna (Voss) Nelson. Carl graduated from Austin High School in 1985. He lived in Minneapolis for many years. He had a natural talent for fixing and building things. Carl enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family. He was a philosophical and gentle man, a hard worker, and had a very witty, dry humor. He was a good, kind brother and loving uncle, and wonderful son to his mother. Carl is survived by his mother, LaDonna of Albert Lea, Minnesota; sister, Laurel (Don) Jordan of Irving, Texas; brother, Keith (Julie Feirtag) of White Bear Township, Minnesota; sister, Marcia (Bill) Danker of Rougemont, North Carolina; and sister, Lisa (Pat) Dahl of Brookings, South Dakota. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Gregory Kruger of Greenwich, Connecticut, Stefanie Danker of Lawrence, Kansas, Charisse (Scott) Logan of Kirkland, Washington, Woodrow Dahl of Brookings,  Paul (Dayna) Nelson of St. Paul, Minnesota, William Danker IV of Rougemont, Ryan Dunker of Chaska, Minnesota, Aaron Danker of Chaska, and Hannah Nelson of White Bear Township.
