According to the court report, police were dispatched at 7:44 a.m. on Friday to a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Fourth Street Southeast. They met with a woman who said Janning had assaulted and threatened her. She said he got upset because she wouldn’t drive him to school and dumped a cup of water on her. He then allegedly threw a chair at her, which hit her on the arm. He then allegedly said he would kill her in her sleep.

Janning confirmed he threw water on the woman and was mad she wouldn’t take him to school, but denied threatening to kill her, saying he threatened to “kick” her, according to the complaint. When asked if he touched her or pushed her, he allegedly said, “I might have pushed her when I pushed the cup (of water) away,” but denied throwing the chair at her.
