Fly with the Young Eagles

Kids ages 8-17 will have a chance to take to the skies on Saturday during the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 386’s Young Eagles Flight Rally at the Austin Municipal Airport.

“We hope to build one-to-one relationships between pilots and young people, giving a new generation a chance to learn more about the possibilities that exist in the world of aviation,” said event spokesman Tim Hansen.

Pilots at the event will explain more about their airplanes, allowing kids to discover how airplanes work and how pilots ensure safety is the prime concern before every flight.

Participants will receive a certificate making them official Young Eagles after the flight.

Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday with flights beginning at 9 a.m. Registration closes at noon. A parent or adult guardian should accompany each participant.
