Three arrested after Wednesday raid: Drugs, weapons allegedly found at residence

Three individuals were arrested after law enforcement allegedly found drugs and weapons in their Austin residence.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, Austin police, Mower County deputies and agents with the Southeast Minnesota Violent Crime Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at 7:18 a.m. on Wednesday on a residence in the 1600 block of 16th Street Southwest. They arrested Darrin Darrell Downer Jr., 20, Jesse Darell Downer, 28, and Michelle Dawn Downer, 27, all of Austin.
Two children at the residence, a 8-year-old male and 2-year-old female, were placed in the care of a relative.
Krueger said law enforcement found and seized two stolen weapons, a Smith and Wesson Shield 9 mm and a TEC-9 with silencer, a large bag containing almost a pound of marijuana, smaller amounts of marijuana scattered through the residence, two bags of Xanax, ammunition and over $2,000 in cash. Marijuana was also allegedly found in Jesse Downer’s pocket at the Mower County Jail.
Some of the drugs were found in places accessible to the children, according to Krueger.
All three suspects will appear before a judge on Friday morning and will be charged with felony receiving stolen property, two counts of felony fifth-degree drug possession-not a small amount of marijuana and gross misdemeanor child endangerment. Jesse Downer will also be charged with felony violent felon in possession of a firearm and gross misdemeanor introduce contraband into jail and Darrin Downer Jr. will be charged with felony possession of a suppressor not lawfully possessed.
