Arnold Leroy Nelson, 74, passed away at home with family by his side after a long bout with Parkinson’s.
Arnold was born on Sept. 5, 1943, to Herman and Alberta Nelson.
Arnold graduated from Austin High School. He entered the Navy in 1961, where he serviced airplanes in Kingsville, Texas. He was honorably discharged in 1966.
He retired from the USPS in Rochester, Minnesota.
Arnold married Denise L. Jensen on Aug. 26, 1975.
Arnold was the original golfaholic. On a nice day, there was a 100 percent chance he wouldn’t be home much. He loved cars so much that our daughter, Trika, grew up thinking it was normal for families to drive through all the car lots on the weekend!
Arnold is survived by his wife, Denise L. Jensen; his two daughters, Heidi (Dewey) Perkins of Orlando, Florida, and Trika (Mick) Graham of Surprise, Arizona; his sister, Alice Reese of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; his sister-in-law, Carmine (Ron) McCown; brother-in-law, Nolan Johnson; four grandchildren; nine nieces; and nephews.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alberta Nelson; his brother, Donovan; sister, Ardice; daughter, Robyn; and father-in-law, Hawkeye Jensen.
Blessed be his Memory.
