To the Editor:

I brought my family to Austin, Minnesota, this week for a family reunion. Before we head home to “our Austin” in Texas, I wanted to send this sweet, wonderful community a message.

I have enjoyed Independence Day fireworks shows across the country. Many of them claim to have “the best fireworks show in the US” and they market their shows all over their respective states. I’ve seen several in Sacramento, California; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kemmerer, Wyoming; Salt Lake City, Utah; Wendover, Nevada; Mapleton, Utah Rockdale, Texas; Round Rock, Texas; Austin, Texas; and a few others. Most of these places claim to have the greatest, or most patriotic shows around.

The fireworks show I witnessed last night here in Austin was the absolute BEST I’ve seen. While I wouldn’t recommend marketing it further because it’d become overcrowded, I hope y’all take great pride in what you’ve created. I may have to return annually because no other show will top that.
