Will be fourth location in Austin
Kwik Trip Store No. 246 is scheduled to open on Oct. 18, according to Kwik Trip Public Relations Director John McHugh.
The store, which will be located on 14th Street Northwest on the former Gymocha site, next to Ankeny’s Mini Mart, is already accepting applications. Kwik Trip was named the 13th best company to work for in Minnesota this year, McHugh said.
Gymocha was torn down in December and site preparation began in June.
“This will be a large format store, about 7,200 square feet,” McHugh said.
The new location will include eight fuel pumps, but will not include separate side diesel islands or a car wash. McHugh also said the services offered would be the same as other Kwik Trips in Austin.
“We try to be as consistent as possible with all of our locations,” he said.
Although the location will open Oct. 18, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Oct. 31. Kwik Trip President Don Zietlow will be present along with other company executives.
Kwik Trip Store No. 689, located on West Oakland Avenue, was the first Kwik Trip location in Austin, opening in 1994. Store No. 445 on Fourth Street Northwest opened in 2007 and Store No. 250 on 10th Place Northeast opened in 2014.
