Sullivan named priest for Christ Episcopal

Christ Episcopal Church has announced John P. Sullivan will serve as priest for the parish.
Sullivan was ordained into the diaconate in 2013 and served in both Albert Lea and Austin as deacon. He interned in both Owatonna and Rushford prior to his ordination into the ministry on June 26, 2018.
John Sullivan was born and raised in Austin and has been employed by the Austin School District for 22 years.
“We are fortunate to have John and his family in our parish,” said church member Sue Grove.
Sullivan is married to Jeanette and they have four daughters: Rebecca, Hannah, Sarah and Mary. His community activities have included being a member of the Friends of the Austin Library, an instructor at the Austin ArtWorks Center an d member of the Mower county Historical Society. He also enjoys fly fishing.
“I am humbled and honored to have served as a deacon and now as a priest at Christ Church among people so inspired and inspiring,” Sullivan said. “
Christ Episcopal was founded on June 25, 1866 and hosts the well-known Sauerkraut Supper every October.
“The Sauerkraut Supper is an important part of our ministry and it will certainly continue,” Sullivan said.
