Two injured in Interstate 90 crash

Two women from Iowa were treated for non-life threatening injuries after being in an crash Wednesday afternoon in Racine Township.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol report, a 2001 Buick Park Avenue was driving on wet roads westbound on Interstate 90 at about 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday near milepost 204 in Racine Township. The driver, June Retterath, 43, of McIntire, Iowa, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to cross the median and enter the eastbound lanes, where it struck an oncoming 2011 Volvo Semi Tractor before coming to a stop in the frontage road. The semi stopped on the shoulder a few hundred feet away from the crash and was leaking fuel.
The Minnesota State Patrol and Stewartville Fire Department responded to the scene. Deputies from the Mower County and Olmsted County Sheriff’s Offices also assisted at the scene.
Retterath and her passenger, Marybeth Hemann, 60, of Stacyville, Iowa, were transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester by Gold Cross Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
