The Hayfield football team snapped a 14-game losing streak as it beat Wabasha-Kellogg (0-2 overall) 7-6 on the road Friday night.
The Vikings (1-1 overall) were trailing 6-0 in the first half when Dylan Ehmke recovered a fumble and ran it back 47 yards to set up a three-yard TD run by Jake Risius. Ethan Koski hit the PAT that put Hayfield up for good.
“These players have worked pretty hard to get everyone together and get guys to come out,” Hayfield head coach John Howe said. “We’ve had some completion on the field and it raised our level of play. It paid off tonight. It was neat to see them picking each other up and they feel excited about this win.”
