Jean Elizabeth Learn, 69, of Red Wing, Minnesota, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester.
She was born on June 9, 1949, in Austin, Minnesota, to Elroy and Margaret (Gainey) Morgan. She graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin in 1967. She attended Rasmussen School of Business and then worked two years for the FBI in Washington, D.C. She returned to Austin, working for Hormel for six years. On Sept. 1, 1973, she was united in marriage to Wayne Learn. They continued to live in Austin and then moved to Wells, Minnesota, where she had a daycare and worked at the Wells Hospital. In 1984, they moved to Red Wing, where she did daycare and worked for West Publishing. She was a member of Bible Center Church near Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and also did crocheting and cross-stitching.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; three children, Carrie Learn of St. Paul Park, Minnesota, Jon (Kim) Learn of Victoria, Minnesota, and Liz (Josh) Roper of Red Wing; four grandchildren, Aiden, Kaylee and Samantha Roper and Aeson Kiley, along with a granddaughter due in March; two sisters, Judy Morgan of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Joan Morgan of Austin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Jim Morgan.
A memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at the Bible Center Church with Pastors Don and Jan Shilts officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at a later date at London Cemetery near London, Minnesota.
