Austin and much of southeastern Minnesota has been placed in both a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch for tonight as a line of severe storms march through the area.

The thunderstorm warning will extend through 7:30 p.m. tonight for Mower County and Dodge County. Storms could produce 70 mph wind gusts.

A tornado watch will remain in effect through midnight tonight as a result of these same storms. Dodge, Mower, Winona, Fillmore, Olmsted, Houston and Wabasha are all included in this watch.
