Bernice Elnora Mead, 88

Bernice Elnora Mead, 88, of Adams, Minnesota, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at the Adams Health Care Center.

Bernice was born Dec. 21,1929, in Dexter Township of Mower County, Minnesota, to William and Ida (Braaten) Foster. She attended country school in Dexter Township and married Robert Mead on July 15, 1950, in Austin, Minnesota.

Bernice was a homemaker, farm wife and devoted mother who enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. She was a great cook and often said they may not have been in “fashion” but her family was always clean, well fed and taken care of. She taught her 12 children manners and gave them values to live by. Bernice loved having company, including her brothers, sisters and extended family. Her door was always open and the coffee pot on, welcoming the neighbor women, who she enjoyed making doughnuts with. A couple more children for an overnight were never a problem. Anyone who knew Bernice or recently met her would say that she was an amazing lady.
