I would like to thank the great citizens of Mower County for the opportunity to serve as your Sheriff for the past 16 years. It has been a great honor. You afforded me the opportunity to hire some of the finest men and women in all areas of the Sheriff’s Office.

The office of Sheriff was never one I took lightly. I believe you are best served by a sheriff that has an affable personality, excellent communication skills and the training and experience in investigating crime.

Steve Sandvik has all of those qualities and many more. His ability to investigate a crime, present the case for prosecution and ability to testify are second to none. He also has compassion for those that do not have the ability to speak for themselves. I have seen this many times. He has a strong ability to build good relationships with other community leaders. You soon realize, after getting into this business, we don’t do it alone.  We need the community of Mower County to support us.
