Riverland Agricultural and Food Science Technology Club members recently attended the 2018 Nobel Conference at Gustavus Adolphus with this year’s theme of “Living Soils: A Universe Underfoot.”
The conference was held on Oct. 2-3.
“The Nobel Conference brings students, educators and members of the general public together with the leading thinkers of our time, to explore revolutionary, transformative and pressing scientific questions and the ethical issues that arise with them,” according to the conference’s website.
“We were all in awe of this amazing event and learned that we are not the only ones that realize the importance of soil health to the peace of humanity,” said Ag Club Sentinel John Ryther. “It was an inspiring day that I will long remember as I develop my career.”
Ag Club Vice President Aaron Wagner added, “It was a really interesting event I am glad that I attended. They went into great detail that I had not thought of before.”
Those who participated included Modeste Zinzindohoue, Mitch McCabe, Kelsey Monson, Katie Monson, John Ryther, Ally Stanek, Jonah Ryther, Aaron Wagner, Leah Tidemann and Elizabeth Miller.
