Y’s Women of the Hormel Home met Oct. 11. Kris Johnson, Associate Administrator of Mayo Health System of Southeast Minnesota was the program speaker.  She spoke of restructuring changes in Austin and Albert Lea.

An interesting note is that it takes a year to recruit a doctor and three years for a surgeon, also patients spend much less time in the hospital today.  She showed slides of what the new addition will look like and it looks beautiful.

Connie Olson made and handed out our club books. Anita Ulwelling conducted the business meeting and gave the treasurers report, Donna Maas gave the secretaries report.

Y’s women will sponsor a luncheon and card party Nov. 15.

Dessert was served by Evie Mohrfeld and Anita Ulwelling.

The next meeting will be 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the Hormel Home. Our program speaker will be Ted Maxfield, director of the Austin YMCA. He will speak on the new recreation center.
