Austin looking for trio that assaulted man

Austin Police are looking for three suspects involved in an alleged assault that took place early Wednesday morning.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, officers were dispatched to Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Austin at around 4 a.m. Wednesday for a reported assault. Krueger said the victim had been walking southbound from his shift at Quality Pork Processor, Inc, at around 3 a.m., between the skate park and the walking bridge behind the Austin Public Library when three masked men came up behind him.
He was struck from behind by a blunt object and knocked to the ground, where one of the individuals removed his wallet before throwing it back
at him as the wallet was empty. Two of the assailants then began assaulting the victim.
The victim was able to fight off the attackers to a standing position and then escaped to a friend’s house.
The victim described the assailants as short and dressed in dark clothing. All three were wearing masks of some sort. He was not able to tell age or race.
