Gladie Marie Kolb, 88

Gladie Kolb, 88, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Milestone Assisted Living.

Gladys “Gladie” Marie Kolb was born to Ezra and Maude (Heldt) Holst on Aug. 18,1930, in Lake City, Minnesota. On May 6, 1950, she was united in marriage to Joseph Kolb at St. Mary’s and moved to Austin. Gladie was a homemaker and a mother to five children. Gladie worked at Queen of Angels as a P.E. teacher, she drove a school bus, and worked at Libby’s canning company and Johnson Floral.

Gladie enjoyed fishing, working in her beautiful garden, taking her dog for a walk and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was in numerous activities at Queen of Angels Church.

Gladie is survived by her husband, Joseph Kolb; sons, Timothy (Tammy) Kolb, Stuart, Florida, and Bruce Kolb, Port St. Lucie, Florida; daughters, Rebecca (Mark) Bushaw, Faribault, Minnesota, Elizabeth (Rick Waldee) Johannsen, Owatonna, Minnesota, and Joette (Steve Roytman) Kolb, Melbourne, Florida; grandchildren, Justin, Adam, Karleigh, Anna, Michelle, Max and Margaret; and great-grandchildren, Kamiah, Kaisley, Kassidy, Ryan, Andrew, Julia, Jax, and Phoenix.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Burdick and Pearl Halpaus; and grandson, Ben Kolb.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday Nov. 29, 2018, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
