Larry Dean Moucha, 78, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Society in Austin, Minnesota.
Larry was born on March 2, 1940, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Ed and Dorothy Moucha. He grew up on the family farm in the Myrtle, Minnesota, area with one brother and one sister. He worked hard, but made it known that he really disliked chopping wood! As a young man, he enjoyed going to dances, drive-in movies, and getting into trouble with his friends. In 1961, he married Joann Whipple and together they raised four sons and two daughters in rural Austin, later moving to town in 1970.
Larry was an over-the-road truck driver. In his retirement years, he loved racing around in his golf cart at the lake campground and spending winters in Arizona with his second wife, Nancy.
Larry is survived by his children, Donald Whipple, Cindy (Tom) Mathison, Jeff Moucha, Steve (Donna) Moucha and Todd (Esther) Moucha; sister, Sandra Thompson; son-in-law, Leroy Piveral; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Joann (nee Hermanson) and Nancy (nee Ashton); parents, Ed and Dorothy (nee Larson) Moucha; brother, Ronald Moucha; and daughter, Tammy Jo Piveral.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at the Hormel Historic Home, 208 Fourth Ave. NW, Austin, MN. Friends and family are encouraged to present/share their memories of Larry with the group.
Interment of ashes will be done in a private family ceremony at a later date.
