As we enter this month of November, a time of thanksgiving, I am especially reminded of all with which I have been blessed.
The month of November sees a number of activities at Pacelli that help us express our gratitude in so many ways. The annual Gala on Nov. 10, will recognize alumnus William Taufic, ‘73, who has expressed appreciation of the importance Pacelli had on the direction his life has taken.
We will also recognize Jim ‘55 and Joan Hayden and Keith ‘68 and Chris Leif in tribute to all they have done to promote and support the work of Pacelli Catholic Schools. We are deeply grateful to so many who continue to bless our school with volunteer hours as well as financial support. Tickets for the Gala may be purchased through Nov. 7 in the school office.
PreK-12 Pacelli students are busily completing a Gratitude Project. Each classroom has received a gratitude box filled with lessons, thank you notes, and a blank check for $25.00 to Pay-It-Forward to a deserving organization researched and chosen by the class. In celebration of its centennial year, Liberty Diversified International, a company based out of New Hope, Minnesota is making gratitude a center of their celebration by distributing gratitude kits to schools, churches and non-profit groups. As the founder of LDI was grateful for the opportunity he found in his adopted homeland, his company looks to help cultivate a “gratitude attitude” in today’s youth. We are grateful to the employees of LDI for supplying these kits and curriculum to our school. It has had a noticeable impact on our staff and students.
Pacelli students will also be participating in acts of giving in November as they collect food for local food shelves. This project will culminate at our All School Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, when Father will bless the food prior to distribution.
