Giving caregivers a place for support
Published 8:55 am Saturday, December 1, 2018
The Caregiver Support group at the Mower County Senior Center is facilitated by senior center advocates.
This group is now meeting two times per month. This month it will be Thursday, Dec. 6 and 20.
On Dec. 20 we will have Carmen Tribbett talk about her children’s book on Alzheimer’s, and her partnership with the Frank and Barbara Broyles Foundation.
The Broyles Foundation supports Alzheimers caregivers in crisis. They have created a book called “Coach Broyles’ Playbook for Alzheimer’s Caregivers.”
This playbook has answers for the tough questions and situations caregivers will face, tips and strategies for providing quality care, and what worked well for the Broyles family. Holidays can be stressful for caregivers.
Our support group provides the opportunity for caregivers to share their experiences, discuss their concerns, and gain support and information from other caregivers. We meet the first and third Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m.
If you are a caregiver, please join us. If you have any questions about the support group, contact either Advocate Nancy Donahue 1-507-433-8376 or BreeAnna Strouf 1-507-433-3462.
Lunch with the Cedars

While you are waiting you will be served lunch. There is no cost to you, any donations will be given to the Center. Everyone is welcome.
