The Austin boys hockey team put up a solid effort, but it came up short as it lost its seventh straight game when it fell to Faribault (8-3-1 overall, 2-2-1 Big Nine) 4-3 on the road Saturday.
Kaleb Ree scored with 10:03 left in the third period, but the Packers (2-8 overall, 1-6 Big Nine) weren’t able to get the equalizer.
Tyler Hoban and Hunter Guyette also had a goal each in the loss and Ryan Flanders had 22 saves.
Austin’s previous seven losses in the skid were all decided by at least four goals.
