In efforts to curb population growth and unwanted kittens in Mower County, there’s an upcoming clinic available for cat owners looking to spay or neuter their felines.
The Mower County Humane Society, along with the Austin Vet Clinic, will be sponsoring a feline spay/neuter clinic from Jan. 14 to Feb. 28. Reservations are accepted until the clinic is full, with a limit of about 200 cats.
Set at discounted prices, a house cat or barn cat can be spayed or neutered for $50 and $40 respectively. Rabies shots and distemper shots are also available at a reduced cost of $10 each when a cat is spayed or neutered. This clinic is for Mower County residents.
Those looking to make an appointment can call the Austin Vet Clinic at 507-433-5225. Pet porters are required for each cat for surgery recovery.
