Richard “Dick” Henry Magee, 89, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Our House Memory Care in Austin.
Richard was born on Dec. 2, 1929, in Austin to Joe and Emily (Moshier) Magee. He graduated from Austin High School in 1947 and married Darlean Iverson on Sept. 10, 1953. Richard was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
Dick grew up and farmed the family farm until his retirement, upon which he spent time with his passions, woodworking and operating an antique business. He was active in Mower County Pork Producers, 4-H and FFA. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, dancing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Emily Magee; son-in-law, John Verducci; sisters, Evelyn Goslee and Viola Warrington; and brother, Kenny Magee.
Richard is survived by his children, Debra (Magee) Verducci, Arlington, Virginia, Dale (Julie) Magee, Bloomington, Minnesota, Deanna Magee (Jeff Huber) Brighton, Michigan, David Magee, Arlington, and Douglas Magee, Two Harbors, Minnesota; grandchildren, Kimberly (Andrew) Robinson, Steven (Sarah) Magee and Emily (Steven) Kuplic; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Madison Chelberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Woodbury Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Olaf Lutheran Church or to Our House Memory Care.
