Sharon R. Swallow, 78, of Rose Creek, Minnesota, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Sharon Rose Tabor was born June 8, 1940, in Austin, Minnesota, to Wayne and Viola (Janning) Tabor. She was united in marriage to Keith Swallow in 1958. The couple raised two children. They later divorced. Sharon married Lenny Kester on Oct. 9, 1987, in Austin.
Sharon was a dedicated caregiver for those with special needs for over 45 years at REM-Woodvale in Austin. She loved living in the country, where she took great care of her yard, adorning it with flowers, feeding all the birds, and enjoying a good cup of coffee on the deck with her beloved dog, Charlie. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards, and reading suspense novels.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Downs of Rose Creek and William Swallow (Diane) of Austin; her grandchildren, Paris Bogren, Connor Bogren and Brianna Lenway (Bobby Olson); great-grandchildren, Kylan, Miciah, Alice, Logan and Nicoli; sisters, Donna Mae Grage, Bonnie (Marv) Ryks, Cheryl Mikkelson and Kathy (Marc) Knutson, all of Austin; brothers, Bruce (Sue) Tabor, Gary Tabor, Steve (Judy) Tabor, Craig Tabor and Duane Tabor (Brenda), all of Austin; sister-in-law, Marie Tabor of Washington; brothers-in-law, Don Wytaske of Austin, Ernie Allen of Texas and Vern Bauer of Lyle, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenny Kester; parents, Wayne and Viola Tabor; and siblings, Delores Wytaske, Eugene Tabor, Patricia Bauer, Jim Tabor and Marsha Allen.
In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. There will be a small family gathering celebrating Sharon’s life at a later date.
