Angelica Maria Quintero, 31, of Stewartville was charged on Monday in Mower County District Court with felony first-degree burglary-assault person in building or on property, felony first-degree burglary-occupied dwelling, misdemeanor fifth-degree assault-fear of bodily harm and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal damage to property.
According to the court complaint, a Grand Meadow police officer and Mower County Deputy were dispatched at 7 p.m. on Saturday regarding a burglary at a residence in the 400 block of First Street Northwest in Grand Meadow. Dispatch advised that Quintero was trying to start a fight with someone at the residence. An adult male at the residence said he had received a call that Quintero, with whom he has children, was on her way to his house. An adult female was also at the residence.
They told law enforcement that Quintero arrived and was “banging” on the front door, then entered the residence when a child in the house shouted, “Someone’s here!” She then attempted to make her way to the backroom, but the man blocked her way to stop her from “getting to” the woman. He then said he grabbed Quintero and pushed her out of the house. The woman said she was afraid Quintero was going to assault her.
The man then said Quintero got into her 1998 GMC Jimmy and drove it into the front of the woman’s 2017 Nissan Rogue. An officer photographed the damage.
Quintero was located and arrested in Olmsted County. While at the Mower County Jail, she told law enforcement she had gone to the residence to get money for her children. She said the man answered the door and let her in, then pushed her back out.
A review of Quintero’s criminal history shows prior convictions for theft.
Quintero will appear in court again on Jan. 14.
