The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team lost to Medford (20-0 overall, 13-0 Gopher) 53-43 in BP Friday.

The Awesome Blossoms (11-9 overall, 6-7 Gopher) pulled within six when Maggie Bruns scored on an assist from Julia Worke with 15 seconds left in the first half, but the Tigers eventually pulled away.

“The second half was very competitive, but we just couldn’t dig our way out of the hole we dug ourselves in the first half,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “We defended very well throughout the entire game, but we gave up a few too many points in transition and second chance points.“
