Congratulations to Katie Willrodt and Thomas Kroymann, the January Rotary Students of the Month.
Katie is a member of numerous school clubs and activities, including Go Green Club, Knowledge Bowl, and National Honor Society. Additionally, she was named a Girls Tennis Captain and received the Spotlight on Scholarship Award, the Big 9 Academic Award, and the All State Academic Award.
“I am thankful for all of my teachers that helped get me to where I am today,” Willrodt said. “I have learned so much and have made so many great friends along the way.”
Katie’s future plans include attending Benedictine College for a degree in nursing and “possibly (joining) the peace corps as (she has) a love and passion for helping people.”
Thomas, a member of the National Honor Society, has earned the Big 9 Academic awards in both football and track and field, and he earned an All-Conference honorable mention for track in 2018.
“My educational experience so far has been excellent,” Thomas said. “I have been given so many opportunities to succeed and to challenge myself.” Thomas’ plans for the future include attending the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire to pursue a degree in pre-med and play football.
Each month the Austin Rotary, in conjunction with Austin Public Schools, selects two students who excel in academics, leadership, and/or activities.
