The National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wisconsin, has issued a winter weather advisory for Southeast Minnesota effective from 6 p.m. today to 6 p.m. Thursday.

According to the NWS, a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will begin this evening and transition to snow on Thursday. Snow accumulations of three to five inches are expected, as is an ice accumulation of one-tenth to one-fifth of an inch.

Difficult Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes are expected as snow and ice will make the roads slick.
