The Southland girls basketball team beat Chatfield (5-17 overall, 3-10 Three Rivers) 50-35 in Adams Friday.

Lexi Smith had 24 points, 15 rebounds and three steals for the Rebels (6-14 overall, 4-9 Three Rivers) and Jenna Bentzin had nine points as she went three-for-five on threes.

“Lexi was on fire. She couldn’t miss and she worked her tail off,” Southland head coach Dean Bendtsen said. “Chatifled’s a much improved team so we were pretty nervous going into this one.”
