Swimming and diving: Pack advances five to state

The Austin boys swimming and diving team had five athletes qualify for state in six separate events as the Packers took fifth place as a team in the Section 1A meet in Rochester Friday.

The Austin 200-yard medley relay team of Trey Myers, Logan Kelly, Rafe Dolan Peterson and Aaron Knoll set a new AHS record with a time of 1:37.84 to advance to state and the 400-yard freestyle team that includes the same foursome is also headed to state.

Dolan Peterson took first in the 100-yard backstroke and he also qualified for state in the 100-yard butterfly, Kelly took first in the 100-yard breaststroke and he also qualified for state in the 200-yard individual medley.

Myers qualified for state in the 100-yard backstroke and Riley Norton is headed to state in diving.
