Nathan John Mullenbach, 84, of Adams Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2019, surrounded by his family at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home after a six-week battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
Nathan was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Adams Township to Paul and Mary (Juenger) Mullenbach. He attended Johnsburg grade school and graduated from Adams High School in 1952. After graduation, he worked on the family farm just north of Johnsburg, Minnesota. His father was killed in an auto accident in October 1952. He then farmed with his mother, Mary, until he purchased the farm in 1962. On Sept. 17, 1957, Nathan married Dorothy Rauen at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, Iowa. They lived on the Mullenbach family farm for 40 years. In 1997, they moved to Adams. Nathan was a proud dairy farmer, Johnsburg cemetery plot-keeper for 20 years, and Catholic United Financial member. He enjoyed playing cards with family, friends, and all his grandchildren, going to grandkids’ events, a good card game of Solo, occasional casino slots, fishing and bus trips with friends. Even after moving to Adams, he enjoyed going to the family farm to help his son, Gary.
