Select eleventh and seventh grade Pacelli students were inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS) and the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) at a special assembly on Tuesday, April 9, in the Pacelli Auditorium.
NHS inductees include: Rory Bickler, Vanessa Cotter, Olivia Culbert, Shenali DeSilva, Leo Einck, Sunny Mehta-Morgado, Rachel Nelsen, Abbey Neve, Goamaar Paul, and Whitney Walkup. NJHS inductees include; Avari Drennan, Ayden McGee, Isaac Nelsen, Addison Olson, and Megan Rauen.
The NHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
The NJHS was established in 1929 to recognize outstanding middle level students. NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in official Honor Society activities. NHS and NJHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada.
