No injuries were reported after a boom truck caught fire Thursday morning.
According to Austin Fire Chief Jim McCoy, firefighters responded to a truck fire call at about 8:50 a.m. on Thursday at 303 Fourth Avenue Southwest. Morem Tree Service employees were working at the property when the bucket of the boom truck lost power. They then noticed hydraulic fluid spraying from the hose line, then saw flames. They attempted to extinguish the fire while the property owner called 911.
McCoy indicated the fire likely started when the hydraulic fluid reached the muffler.
There is no damage estimate to the truck at this time.
