Greta Warmka of Grand Meadow received a top scholarship award from Minnesota Masonic Charities this month. Minnesota Masonic Charities (MMC) announced the recipients of its 2019 Scholarships Program on May 1.
The nonprofit organization provides merit-based annual awards to some of the state’s most promising scholars, totaling 93 new and 150 renewal scholarships this year.
Warmka was recognized with MMC’s Vocational/Two-year Scholarship and will receive $1,500 per year for up to two years. She is one of only 20 students statewide to receive the award this year.
Since 2008, MMC has provided more than $5 million to fund Minnesota students seeking higher education with some of the most generous awards in the country.
The scholarships are based on academic, extracurricular and service accomplishments and no Masonic affiliation is needed to apply with the exception of the Fraternal Scholarships. In addition, the awards are renewable, following the students through their academic journeys.
MMC offers scholarships to high school seniors interested in vocational, two-year and four-year academic programs, and to undergraduate students.
