Jim Jensen, 50, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away at his home in Elgin, Minnesota, on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
Jim was born on Sept. 30, 1968, in Austin to Kenneth and Joanne (Hanson) Jensen. Jim grew up in Austin, where he graduated from Austin High School in 1987. It was there he met his wife, Lori, and they were married on April 7, 1990 in Austin. After high school, he went on to complete a two-year degree in auto/truck body. He pursued a career as a collision technician and worked at Krejci Ford in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, Rochester Ford in Rochester, Minnesota, and Collision Specialists Inc. in Austin. He taught the Collision Repair program for eight years at Riverland Community College and worked at Adamson Motors in Rochester for the past two years.
Jim’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and whatever project was in the garage at the time. He enjoyed watching Gopher and Wild hockey and he always said he bled purple. Most importantly, he enjoyed his time with his family; family always came first to Jim. He was a devoted husband and active father, attending every sporting event and musical performance. He loved family vacations, especially trips up north to the lake. Most nights at home you’d find him enjoying a fire and a cold one with his best bud, his yellow lab Zeke, and family or friends.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lori; their daughters, Lauren and Allison of Elgin, Minnesota; parents, Kenneth and Joanne Jensen of Austin; brother, Scott (Kris) Jensen; nieces, Emily and Katie Jensen of Albert Lea, Minnesota; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Valinda Crews of Austin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert (Brenda) Crews II; nephews, Jaceb and Justin Crews of Austin; and niece, Katie (Nate) Trimble of New Jersey.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joy Bussert officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
