The Austin boys tennis team lost to Rochester John Marshall 6-1 in Paulson Tennis Courts Thursday.
Dominic Apolo won the No. 4 singles match for the Packers (1-12 overall, 1-11 Big Nine) over Bradley Harris by scores of 6-3, 6-4.
The Packers were highly competitive in the doubles matches against JM.
“That was a battle. We had some extremely close matches today and the score could have gone either way,” Austin head coach Jeff Anderson said. “I was proud of the way the guys played and battled today. We played one of best matches of the year in probably the worst conditions we have played in.”
Austin will complete a suspended match against Stewartville at Paulson Courts at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The Packers will open Section 1AA Tournament play next week.
