Shaun Lanny Krachmer, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at home due to complications from diabetes. Shaun was everyone’s friend! We will love him always and miss him forever!
He was born on Feb. 13, 1970, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Karen and Lanny Krachmer. He grew up, graduated and spent most of his life in Austin, Minnesota. He was together with Jenny Fiala from 1992 to 2009; they continued to work together in raising their children.
Shaun’s interests and hobbies included helping others, woodworking, pool, drums, computers, retro game emulation and many other projects. He was our computer guru! At the time of his death, he was the assistant gaming manager for the American Legion and the Windrift Lounge. He also maintained the American Legion website, was treasurer for the Sons of the American Legion, and had many other related duties.
He is survived by his children, Cory, Talon and Kya (who graduated high school on May 19, 2019), all of Northwood, Iowa; granddaughter, Chloe of Mason City, Iowa; parents, Karen and Lanny Krachmer of Austin; siblings, Tami (Mark) May of Austin and Rhonda Krachmer (Andy) of Rochester, Minnesota; former wife, Jenny (Phil) Wheeler of Northwood; lifelong friends/honorary brothers, Bob Langan and Dan Sikkink; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bud and Evelyn Comeau and Lawrence and Millie Krachmer; and nephew, William Fiala.
Shaun was so very proud of his kids! He loved them unconditionally.
Your sisters thank you for being the best little brother ever! Your parents are thankful for an awesome son! We all love you and we will miss you so very much!

A celebration of life will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Austin American Legion Post 91, 809 12th St. SW, Austin, MN 55912.
