Words of encouragement offered to students at baccalaureate mass

Seniors from the four high schools in the diocese of Winona-Rochester attended the baccalaureate Mass at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in Winona on Wednesday.
Each year the bishop celebrates this Mass with graduating seniors, in which prayers, blessings, and words of encouragement are offered to the young adults who will be moving on to various post-secondary options in the fall.
With the Mass celebrated on the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, Bishop Quinn highlighted St. Joseph’s humility and willingness to listen to God’s plan for him, which was communicated to him through his dreams.
Similarly the bishop encouraged the seniors to let Jesus guide them in their dreams and later bestowed upon the students blessed olive wood crucifixes so that students could take Christ with them wherever they went.
