Discover Austin, Minnesota is hoping to get the city featured on “Good Morning America.”

On June 3, the program announced that it would be filming pop-up segments across the United States throughout summer. Austin resident Gretchen Ramlo contacted Discover Austin, Minnesota director Nancy Schnable about getting Austin featured on the show.

“We think Austin, Minnesota, would be an ideal location for them to pop-up and do a segment,” Schnable said. “It’s ultimately promoting the community as a place to come and visit.”

“Good Morning America” is looking for nominations through Twitter on why they should come to the community. To do so, residents have to post a picture with #GMAonTheRoad and tag visitAustinMN.

When asked why Austin should be featured, Schnable had a simple answer: “Why not?”

“There are a lot of wonderful attractions here,” she said. “We bring in a lot of visitors throughout the year and this is a great way to showcase all of the things we have here.”

“We have a little something for everyone,” she added.
