Bruins select four in NAHL Draft

The Austin Bruins selected four players in the NAHL Draft, including three defensemen and one forward, on Tuesday.
The Bruins used their first round and 17th overall pick to select Chris Tamer of the Trenton Golden Hawks, Austin selected Camden Gallagher of the Lloydminster Bobcats with their 40th pick, they took Collen Rush of the Rochester Grizzlies with their 43rd pick and they grabbed Mason McCormick of the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the third round.
Tamer, a 6-foot-1-inch defenseman netted three goals and added five assists in 46 games played in New Jersey. The 19-year old Brighton, Michigan native suited up for Austin during the 2017-18 campaign for a single game.
Gallagher, a defenseman who played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, registered a goal and five assists in his first junior season with the Bobcats.
Rush played nine games with the Grizzlies including all three of the teams’ playoff bouts. He had three assists in his nine games as a defenseman. Prior to joining the NA3HL, the Alexandria, Virginia, native played primarily as a forward in the USPHL with the Atlanta Jr. Knights.
McCormick spent 2018-19 in the USHL where he competed in 30 total games with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Verona, Wisconsin native scored one goal in his 30 games with the Fighting Saints and played in four postseason games.
