Lois Jean Clark, 78, experienced a sudden health event on May 13, 2019, and died on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Good Samaritan Comforcare in Austin, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family.
Lois Jean (Falck) Clark was born on June 6, 1940, the only child of Emma (Bos) and James Falck. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith and continued to follow the Lord throughout her life. Lois attended school and graduated from Austin High School in 1958. She married Lenard D. Clark on June 21, 1958, spending 51 years together until Lenard passed away in 2009. Together they raised three daughters: Dianne, Gwen and Roxanne. Lois’s passion was her family, keeping her home and yard immaculate, celebrating many family gatherings and preparing delicious holiday meals. She looked forward to family and friend visits, Sunday meals with family and drives to Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, to visit her Grandma Hannah. After her children were grown, Lois provided in home childcare, worked outside the home as a nanny, and also worked for the Austin School District for a short time. For many years, she cared for her oldest grandchildren, Adria and Clint, after they came home from school; this continued into the next generation with her great-grandchildren. Lois loved attending her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities and performances, including watching Clint’s baseball games. Her hobbies included bowling, cards, puzzles, board games, TV game shows, word puzzles, and she was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Lois will be truly missed by her devoted family and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Lenard (October 2009); her parents; and her in-laws, Bertha and Martin Clark.
She is survived by her children, Dianne (Ron) Ripley, Gwen (Jeff) Maag and Roxanne (Terry) Nelson; her grandchildren, Adria (Raul) Vargas, Clint Ripley, Justin (Amanda) Maag, Josh Maag and Meghan (Nathan) Andersen; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Gabe, Valerie, Hope, Ian, Mason, Leah and Micah; sisters-in-law, Verdell Clark and Peggy Clark; and many cousins, relatives and life-long friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor James Groleau officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary and will continue on for one hour prior to service on Friday at church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
